This is a loose remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:43591

I needed a skull shape, not an anatomically correct skull, something I could build a character face on that wasn't a wig stand. I used the original object, filled in a lot of empty space, smoothed the contours (using https://stephaneginier.com/sculptgl/), and for the purposes of my character, made it about 10% taller (meaning, for average proportions, scale Z at 90% or so) in Cura.

The teeth are not well defined so if you want teeth you'll have to print them from elsewhere.

There is a 1" hole up through the skull where the spine would be to allow mounting for modeling. There are registration holes in each piece to help line them up; STL for pins is included. Easier/faster/better to print them separately.

If your printer is big enough to print the entire skull in one go, rotating it to ~ -135deg so it's almost completely upside down lets you print with the least number of supports.

Also included up in one corner are tissue depth markers in two rows: first row is single markers, second row, two markers each. Refer to the images of the chart and reconstruction for sizes and placement.

Print Settings

Printer:

FLSun 3D Cube

Resolution:

.3mm

Infill:

5%

Notes:

Zig-zag supports would have been a better choice than line supports. Very hard to remove the line supports with all the small spaces and curved surfaces.

Category: Props
