Human MHC class I: HLA-B27
thingiverse
The stl file was meticulously prepared by Yohann, Kevin, and Florent - three dedicated students of immunology at Toulouse University - for the precise printing of the MHC class I HLA B27 molecule, which comprises domaines alpha1 and 2 exclusively. This project was successfully completed within a comprehensive pedagogical scenario that aimed to educate students in analyzing and manipulating three-dimensional structures. The end result was a visually stunning gallery showcasing various molecules with significant immunological importance. 3D protein structure obtained from the Protein Data Bank was carefully extracted, with accession number 1HSA serving as a guide. Downloading this structure required specifying the .gz file extension, ensuring accuracy throughout the process. Once in place, advanced modifications were applied using Chimera software, followed by conversion to an STL file format. A MakerBot Replicator (makerbot.com) served as the reliable device for producing precise 3D prints of the meticulously adapted protein structure.
