Human Lumber Vertebra
sketchfab
The five lumbar vertebrae form a crucial part of human anatomy, situated between the rib cage and pelvis. As the largest segments of the vertebral column, they are uniquely characterized by the absence of foramen transversarium within their transverse processes, a feature exclusive to the cervical region. Furthermore, unlike thoracic vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae lack facets on their sides. These distinctive characteristics earn them the designation L1 through L5, starting from the topmost position. Acting as vital weight-bearing structures and facilitating movement, the lumbar vertebrae play a pivotal role in supporting the body's weight and enabling its various movements.
