A highly detailed model was created from a precise 3D scan of L7 at the renowned Center for Anatomy and Human Identification at the University of Dundee. Humans boast an impressive total of 33 vertebrae, with 24 of these crucial bones forming the spine. In humans, each vertebra is packed tightly with numerous lumps and bumps that serve as key locations for muscle and ligament attachments, enabling our bodies to support upright weight in gravity.
