Human Eyeball

The model is brought to you by Sketchfab and Microsoft, and modeled with precision on a Surface Pro 3 that Microsoft generously provided for the task. This meticulously accurate model of a human eyeball showcases every vital component. The Sclera, or white of the eye, stands out prominently. Beneath it lies the Cornea, a protective cover over the front of the eye that safeguards its delicate interior. At the center of this intricate mechanism is the Lens, precisely crafted to refract light and enable clear vision. Surrounding the Lens is the Iris, an essential ring that regulates the amount of light entering the eye through the Pupil, its small but critical opening. In addition, the Optic Nerve is expertly detailed, covered as it is by the Orbital muscles and Cornea. Also depicted are the Rectus muscles, which facilitate lateral/medial movement for left/right orientation and inferior/superior movement for up/down orientation. Though not visible in this model, the Oblique muscles play a crucial role in rotating the eye. If an elegant solution presents itself, they will be incorporated shortly. The exposed section of Optic Nerve is a temporary feature that will be refined in due course.
