I'm cutting a human skull in two right down the middle using Meshmixer's simple cut feature, which is ideal for this sort of task. First off, open up Meshmixer and import your 3D model of the human head. Once it loads, select the "Cut" tool from the toolbar. Choose the "Plain Cut" option from the drop-down menu to create a new plane that will slice through the skull. You can adjust the size and position of this plane as needed by dragging its handles or using the arrow keys to move it around. When you're happy with the placement of your cut, click on it to apply it to the model.
