Hull Castle c.1642
sketchfab
Kingston upon Hull's original vision took shape as a model of King Henry VIII's castle, but it evolved into a broader interpretation of the city, drawn from Hollar's map of around 1642. King Henry VIII built his "Hull Castle" circa 1541 as an artillery stronghold. The central castle structure is connected to two trefoil-shaped fortifications with curtain walls that stretch along the east bank of the River Hull. The southernmost blockhouse, situated where the River Hull and Humber meet, was later incorporated into what became known as The Citadel around 1680. What remained of Hull Castle was dismantled in 1863. Personal project created using polygon modeling in Blender.
