Hulk Dual Extruder
thingiverse
I reworked the wonderfully detailed https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:993933. It's a great model, but I'm no painter so I cut it into multiple pieces and modeled joining surfaces for dual extruder printing as well as some PrintAsSupportModeling features. If you don't want to use the base, make sure not to use the custom support models - the support required is much easier. It was requested of me to add a base too, which inhibits the slicer's ability to add even tree support. Printed 19cm tall at 3 shells with 0.4W 0.175H settings for most of it and less for the base and more for the smaller details. I recommend adding a script to pause the print in a couple places so you can have even more colors. If you don't pause, I suggest printing the teeth the same color as the body - purple teeth would be too much! I also printed the outer shell very slowly because the original model has so many great tiny details and really wanted that to show. Hint for Cura 3.6: merge all meshes in preferences and unselect DropAllModelsToBuildPlate, then select the manual support mesh and print it as support with a per-model setting "DropDownSupportMesh" - just make sure it's unselected. I had issues getting Cura to do what I wanted until I merged the models. If this still extends the supports downwards, enable and disable Generate Supports. Don't print the "HulkNotAsSupport" as support because it's a bridge that won't provide a top laterally stabilize the rest of supports - it also breaks away easily.
