The Aztecs adopted typical forms of expression from Teotihuacan and adapted them to their own cultic practices. For instance, they reimagined the Old Fire-god in a distinct manner, altering his hand positioning and incorporating attributes reminiscent of the rain god Tlaloc, such as canine teeth and rings around the eyes.
