HUD Holder with Glass Mount

HUD Holder with Glass Mount

Hello again! This time I designed a HUD Holder with Glass Mount Holder that's perfect for my new van. The oversized tires throw off my speed by about 3-4 mph, but installing a HUD from eBay solved the problem. However, no matter where I mounted it, the reflective image would either be twisted or double imaged. So, I created this holder to keep the HUD in one place and use self-sticking 3M stickers to secure it. The HUD came with its own transparent/reflective screen, which is great, but it didn't work well wherever I placed it. That's why I designed the holder to hold a piece of glass, which is 1/16 inch or 2.3 mm thick and will keep the reflective film in one spot without distorting the image. You can check out the eBay listing for the HUD I used here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Q7-5-5-Car-HUD-Head-Up-Display-GPS-Speed-Warning-System-Fuel-Consumption-Au4/222621511239?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 As you can see from the pictures, this design works out a lot better than I expected. Version 1 had a 2.5 mm track that worked great, but if you hit a large bump or pothole it would fall off or move. Version 2 has a 2.3 mm track that keeps the glass snug and doesn't slide or pop off. Plus, it's a little narrower to fit perfectly on the steering column in front of the original speedometer. Either version will work, I've tried both and Version 2 is better suited for my needs.
