Hubsan X4 Prop Guard

Prop Guard for Hubsan X4 H107C (Motor Diameter 8.5 mm) These guards offer sufficient protection to absorb minor bumps into walls, yet if you crash hard enough, they won't provide much assistance. They weigh less than the original guard. The fit around the motors is slightly tight, so you may need to file or sand them out a bit. This will also depend on your printer's capabilities. There are two versions available: one with a ceiling guard and one without. The version without a ceiling guard weighs approximately 0.43 grams each, while the one with a ceiling guard weighs about 0.48 grams. Since you'll need four of these, that makes a total of 1.72 or 1.92 grams. Update: January 4, 2015 - A sturdier version of the guard featuring a ceiling protector was added. This one has minor ribs incorporated into both the ceiling protector and guard components, as well as slightly thicker "eye" parts. The weight increased to 0.56 gram. This upgraded design should provide enhanced crash resistance. Update: February 5, 2015 - A version designed for non-camera Hubsan drones with 7mm motors was also introduced. These new holes are exactly 7mm in diameter, so you may require a 7mm drill bit to ensure a precise fit if your printer is not adequately precise. This sturdier design includes ceiling guards. Instructions Printed using a Zortrax M200 in ABS with a layer height of 0.09mm, these guards function well. I found it necessary to slightly enlarge the holes using an X-acto knife for optimal fitment. A tight seal is generally preferable over an excessively loose one. They are designed for printing in ABS, although PLA may also be suitable. No guarantees can be provided for use with other materials, however.
