Hubsan X4 Frame

Hubsan X4 Frame

thingiverse

This frame accepts Hubsan X4 micro quadcopter components without issue. Motor openings may require manual adjustment based on printer settings, as each setting can impact size. Models now exist in complete solid form and are listed from newest to oldest. Designed specifically for 7mm motors, but 8mm can also be accommodated with the right tools and a little heat. V3 includes all previous frame design features plus a better-designed Flight Control Board/Receiver box that ensures secure fitment. Gusseting around motor mounts was enlarged to improve stability after breaking numerous V2.1 frames in the same spot. Arm bracing within the body of the quadcopter has been optimized, reducing unnecessary material and resulting in weight close to original but with significant durability increases. The next design version, V2.1, introduced even more comprehensive gusseting for motor support, faster cooling with added speed holes, and advanced structural engineering for increased overall robustness. A notable flaw was discovered when attempting to mount the Receiver Board; the initially designed box turned out too small. This issue made the V2.1 frame approximately 12 grams at a print quality of .2mm resolution with PLA materials, using four shells and 0% infill. Version V2 incorporates light design principles while still targeting strength as its primary objective. Printer settings have been crucial in determining whether this design could hold together without sustaining significant damage. * This version's design ultimately had significant flaws that are reflected by the experience gained from producing the subsequent designs.*
