I designed and fabricated some custom legs for my Hubsans to give them more lift off the ground. This provides better prop clearance in tall grass and increased ground clearance for my Runcam Split camera. Adjusting the leg length is straightforward using your 3D printer's slicer software. I opted for this specific size, which ensures that my Runcam Split has sufficient ground clearance at any angle. I secured the legs with two small zip ties and took it a step further by UV welding them in two places. If you tighten the zip ties sufficiently, there will be no issues, but with the added welds, they become virtually unmovable. The added benefit is that you can easily break the weld if needed. The total weight of the legs and zip ties comes out to 14 grams, which has a negligible impact on flight time. As always, I printed these custom parts using PETG material, utilizing 10% infill for added strength. The resulting design is impressively robust.
