I'm working on a lens mod to get away from Fresnel lenses. BEWARE, these will void your warranty. The Field of View does drop slightly, but there's no more light bleeding from the rings of the Fresnel lenses. I got inspiration from dark games like Elite Dangerous and others. You just pop out your old lenses and pop these in - it's that simple. A guy named Johnny Deathhawk on YouTube shows how to take apart the system. Here's his link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn_GAZlrGQ8 I designed the mod so the lenses press-fit in place. If you lose or can't get a lens to fit, just adjust your flow rate until it fits snugly and won't fall out. I'm also willing to sell these to people without 3D printers - just send me a message. Note that with this mod, you can't wear glasses; you need to bring the Vive close to your face to get a usable Field of View. This is because the smaller diameter lenses used in this mod cause distortion on the absolute rim of the lens. I've posted three pictures showing stock settings first, then the lens mod, and finally the lens mod from farther away to show slight distortion at the edge. You can see that the mod is sharper overall. UPDATE 1/30/17: The seller changed the lenses, so this project is on hold until I find suitable lenses again. UPDATE 3/19/17: This project has been suspended due to a lack of proper optics.
