HTC VIVE Lens Guard

Support and freedom from printing hassle! Using prescription glasses with the HTC VIVE will scratch the Vive's plastic lenses. With this lens guard, you'll prevent prescription glasses from colliding with the Vive's lenses because they will hit the lens guard circular frame first. Users without glasses can use it too, as the lens guard is short enough to avoid face contact. This lens guard is designed for FLEXIBLE FRAME prescription glasses! (I use some ic! berlin frames made out of a very flexible steel sheet) Be cautious if you use it with rigid frame glasses, as you may damage them if you push the vive too close to your face. Also, the lens guard is designed to be compatible with the VR LENS LAB prescription glasses for HTC VIVE headsets. This custom glasses should fit correctly inside the lens guard frame, but I haven't tested it myself. Check their website for more information. INSTALLATION: Just put each lens guard over the Vive's lenses and push gently to secure them in place. (Use the inner straight line of the lenses as a reference and the up cutted side facing you) If the lens guard is too loose or falls, try printing it again slightly smaller (0.5mm smaller). (Fitting may vary depending on the material used for printing and the nozzle size.) Another option is to print it with a flexible material, in which case you will need to print it 1mm smaller overall. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker Original Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25 Infill: 100% Notes: Designed to be printed flat without any support or raft! Be sure to print one piece at a time for best results. Printed with CURA 15.04.6 shell thickness 5mm bottom/top thickness 1mm I use a 0.5mm steel nozzle with 0.25mm layers to print with FormFutura CarbonFil at 50mm/s It's a difficult material since it doesn't stick well without a heatbed and you really need a steel nozzle (brass nozzles will break), but it's worth the result for strength and mechanical resistance + lightness.
