HTC Vive Fast helmet mount
thingiverse
This is a blueprint to fasten an HTC Vive to a Fast helmet with rails. To complete the project, you will need to print one clip, one mirrored clip and a hook plate. The first step involves removing the default strap. Retain the two metal rings in place. You'll require two 1x12 inch cable straps (like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071DGMNMX/) and one 6 inch cable ties (such as this: https://www.amazon.com/Attmu-Reusable-Fastening-Microfiber-6-Inch/dp/B00O9VKVFK/). You also need a QD plate for Fast if you don't already have one. You can either purchase it (like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-Fast-Helmet-QD-Cover-Plate-Adapter-Mount-Bracket-for-Night-Vision-NVG-Device/322189868579) or print it (download the model here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3901286). To assemble the components, use two M5x12 screws with M5 nuts to mount the hook plate to the QD plate. Printing suggestions: 1. 100% infill for clips may be a good idea. 2. Add help disk for clips. Because the design contains sharp angles. 3. Print the hook plate along the long edge (the hook for cable strap should be parallel to the printing plate) for better strength.
