HTC Vive Base Station Slide-In Mounting Bracket
thingiverse
I needed a solution to mount base stations without drilling any holes. My initial thought was to use adhesive mounting tapes, so I designed brackets that accept the original mounting brackets. This way, I could (un)mount the base stations without removing screws or resetting the room setup, as long as the original mounting brackets' positions on the base stations remained unchanged. I wasn't sure if the adhesive would support the weight of the base stations, so I created a bracket that slides over the corner of my bookcase. This bracket is somewhat bulky, allowing me to mount the base station both horizontally and vertically, in case a door obstructs its path. Its dimensions also prevent it from tipping over. To add an extra layer of security, I included a hole that matches an m3 hole in my bookcase, but the bracket seems stable enough without it. Some ca-glue secures the 'slide-in' bracket to the corner bracket.
