HTC Vive 43mm prescription eyeglass lens adapter
thingiverse
I created this adapter after a popular [VRProtect](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1639833) failed to meet my expectations. This design utilizes the same 43mm lens I purchased with these eyeglasses ([http://www.zennioptical.com/550021-metal-alloy-full-rim-frame-with-spring-hinges.html](http://www.zennioptical.com/550021-metal-alloy-full-rim-frame-with-spring-hinges.html)). The 43mm lens snaps firmly into place within the adapter, which then smoothly slides over the stock Vive lens with a moderate amount of friction. In comparison to VRProtect, this setup is more suited for individual use due to its slightly slower removal and installation process. If you have astigmatism, please ensure that the lenses are installed in the "up" orientation. I believe this is crucial, but someone with greater expertise should verify. This adapter maintains a consistent 1mm distance between my (-2.25) lenses and the Vive lenses. With the stock face gasket, it allows me to use the Vive at its closest distance without any discomfort from facial contact. I printed the adapter using PLA without supports on my CR-10.
