This is a two part phone holder made to make printing easier and allow the clip part to be mounted on the car's dash using double sided tape, so you can swap out just the phone holder part when you get a new phone without making a commitment. I wanted this device to blend in with the car's dashboard as much as possible, covering no buttons or restricting airflow when the phone isn't installed. When I bought my 2015 Mazda i Grand Touring hatchback I quickly realized I needed a way to hold my HTC One M8 phone in a convenient place, even though I have an built-in GPS unit, Google Maps on my phone does voice searches better, and putting it in the cup holder reduces reception. I noticed there is a perfect spot for a phone in the center of my dash, right over the emergency light button, so I decided to make my own holder. I wanted it to be easy to clip the phone into place without extra clamps or sliding mechanisms like most universal phone mounts. After six prototype builds, I got all the dimensions right and you can try making this holder if you are in my situation and want a cool phone holder that's easy to use. This should work with an HTC M9 phone too, with a case on it, and you can print it using most 3D printers without any issues.
