HT2 Tube Replacement
pinshape
A printable HolyTrainer2 tube is finally available. I've managed to work on this project again, and it's producing a decent approximation of the original. The MagicLocker isn't perfectly aligned, so using my printed HT2 ring doesn't allow the key to release easily. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to fix this issue yet. The upper bridge area in front of the magic-locker receptacle is weak and needs reinforcement. However, I'm too busy right now to make any changes. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 1.75mm Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: .1mm for a smooth finish Infill: 20%, it doesn't matter due to the thickness of the walls Notes: Getting a tube like this to print properly is quite challenging. You may need to experiment and try different settings until you find one that works well with your printer. Post-Printing Finishing: Be aware that there might be some residual stringiness on the inside, depending on the filament used, resolution, retraction, etc. It may not be comfortable for extended wear unless you dip it in polyurethane or silicone sealant. More experimentation is needed to find a suitable way to make it body-safe, comfortable, and durable while keeping costs down. How I Designed This: 3D Scanning I took several coarse 3D scans to create a rough model of the shape and size. Then, I molded a calendar into a tube, added holes, etc. I had to increase the wall thickness a few times, but it seems suitable for now.
