HS5 LED bulb adapter for Honda PCX
thingiverse
The PCX headlight can be retrofitted with an aftermarket LED bulb using the HS5 locking mechanism. This mechanism only fits LED bulbs with an outside diameter of 18 mm. The system utilizes the headlight bulb gasket from the original halogen bulbs that came on the scooter. I also designed a plug adapter for the wiring harness plug, allowing no wires to be cut on the scooter. The plug requires cheap Chinese made spade connectors and crazy glue to secure them in place. The rear headlight cover might need re scaling to fit snugly and stay in place. I am currently working on an improved LED light that mimics the stock halogen bulb better, although it's a two-color bulb. I acquired the LED kit from eBay, which is a 9006 LED retrofit kit. It includes wiring for Hi and Low beam, but unfortunately, it doesn't have separate sets of LEDs for each function. So, I'm working on a fix for that. Here is an eBay posting with details about the item: https://www.ebay.com/itm/9006-HB4-9012-980W-147000LM-Cree-LED-Headlights-Conversion-kit-Bulbs-6000K-3000K-/172974426637?vxp=mtr I still need to work on a light-blocking hat for the LEDs, so they won't shine straight out of the headlight and blind people.
