HPD F1 development

This is not for public consumption just yet. If you are interested to help with development and testing join on discord: https://discord.com/invite/rWp2CKg. No build instruction and maybe parts missing # Background This is based on the prototype I was competing with in 2021 which in turn is based on the HPD F1 Evo. Compared to the Evo I have: * improved front and rear suspension to give better overall grip. * Improved the design of the motor pod to be more durable. * Set screw to reduce risk of gear alignment failure at crashes. * Front end caster and camber adjustment is removed to achieve above improvement. (Evo front end can be used if you want to keep the adjustability) ## Goals To make it easier for the casual driver the car is to be possible to drive with minimum amount of hard to find components. Gone are metal springs and dampers and they are replaced with 3D equivalents. A simple rear axle without differential is also supplied. For people that want to compete it is still possible to use the Carbon fiber rear axle and a coil over oil shock absorber. ## Prerequisites This design uses 9 ball end screws with 5.8mm diameter balls. With the help of the community I have assembled the following list: * HSP 02038 * Traxxas TRX-1942 * RC 60240 You will also need an assortment of M3 screws: 30pcs M3X12mm Countersunk screws 10pcs M3x6mm Button head screws 5pcs M3x12mm Button head screws Some M4 screws: 4pcs M4x6mm Socket head screws with smooth surface. 2pcs M4x12mm Socket head screws 2pcs M4x25 Hexagon head Some M2 screws: 2pcs M2x6 Socket head screws Grub screws: 1pcs M3x12mm (buy more as they can be used for dampers and side suspension) Nuts 2pcs M4 nylock nut Ball bearings: 2pcs 10x15x4mm 4pcs 6x10x3mm Misc: Servo saver. (Like kimbrough) Steering linkage (33mm turnbuckles and ball ends) Low profile servo Pinion (25T 48 pitch) Radio Esc Motor ## Change log 2022-01-15: * Adding PLA front spring (removing the competition version) * Adding Rear axle (without differential) * New damper front mount 2022-02-15 * Printed side springs / stab combo * Printed main spring * Generic body mounts (to be able to mount generic lexan body or the printed evo-body) 2022-02-24 * Motor pod pivot ball (TRX-1942 does not work at that position) 2022-03-16 Redesign of motor pod moving the motor 4mm on X-axis. OBSERVE: This makes that the previous version(s) of carbon rear axle is no longer suitable. * New pod front * New pod rear * New damper rear mount * New damper front mount * New side suspension mount * New rear axle * New wheel hex * New distance for the left wheel hex side. * New main chassis * New generic body mounts left/right 2022-04-15 * Wheel bearing shim 2022-04-24 * New left and right pod. (Bearing seat was to tight.) 2022-05-31 * printed rear spring This should be the last parts before release as all design goals are achieved.
