My friend's HP Mini 110-1025 netbook still functions despite being severely damaged. The only thing that concerns her is a dead CMOS battery. I carefully disassembled the device following detailed instructions on several online resources, including Instructables.com and YouTube videos. I extracted the battery, which was just a standard CR2016 coin battery wrapped in a protective covering. I considered purchasing a replacement on eBay but opted to use the one I had at hand instead, hoping to resolve the issue quickly. Next, I discovered a 3D printable component online that claimed to provide a solution for this problem. However, when I printed it out, the openings didn't match up with the battery's connector. Undeterred, I opened the design in FreeCAD and made some adjustments before reprinting it, ensuring a perfect fit. You can view a timelapse video of my process on YouTube, showcasing the entire repair from start to finish.
