HP laptop hinge

About six months ago, I was startled to hear plastic fragments rattling inside my laptop. When I opened it, my worst fears were confirmed: every single screw hole on the right side hinge had snapped. No worries, a 3D printer can easily fix this! The replacement part relies on remaining ribs for gluing surface area using super glue. Damaged pieces must be carefully removed with a multi-tool, while the 3D printed part fits snugly into cleared gaps and plastic ribs. Original metal tread inserts are melted into the 3D printed part using a soldering iron. After six months, it's still better than new – I'm problem-free! Here's how to do it: First, print the part. Next, carefully remove damaged sections (cover the rest of the laptop). Then, dry fit and see if everything fits (sanding and carving may be needed). Fourth, melt original inserts into the part with a soldering iron. Finally, glue and close hinge on top so it holds until the glue sets.
