I purchased a HP DirectJet 500 but it lacked the essential spindle component. To rectify this situation, you can utilize a 3/4" wooden dowel that matches the inner diameter of the spindle, which measures 3/4". By attaching both these components to the dowel, you will be able to assemble the mechanism properly. The Roll end cap needs to remain stationary at one end of the rod, while the other end cap is slightly larger and must slide onto the paper roll with ease.
