HOWTO: Fancy TTF and stick TTF fonts
thingiverse
For numerous applications, such as engraving and laser cutting, "stick" TTF fonts are often required, but on the web, only a few of these fonts can be found. Conversely, many Open Source or Public Domain standard TTF fonts are readily available (consult resources). This toolchain and the Fontfilter Java program were created to experiment with TTF fonts, produce new fancy TTF font or font family, and assist in transforming TTF fonts into stick TTF fonts. The Fontfilter can process all glyphs present in a font, making it extremely fast and a valuable aid for designing new fonts. Summary: - The Problem - Features - Toolchain - Notes and References See the file HOWTO_TTFfonts_en.pdf or HOWTO_TTFfonts_it.pdf for more information. The FontFilter is also available at https://github.com/msillano/FontFilter, complete with source code.
