Boulder discovered on Howden Hill, northwest of Newbrough, Northumberland. This is the more southerly of two carvings found side by side on Howden Hill. At the time of NADRAP Team 2's recording, it wasn't known whether this rock was the previously referenced 'Round Cairns West of Middle House' on the Beckensall Archive (BA). NADRAP referenced the carving 'Howden Hill 1,' adding it to ERA in 2008. The team described the motifs as: "More than 50 cups. Some of these in two prominent lines of cups running to the south side, curved arcs and lines or more scattered. One area of shallow peck marks on the north side."
