Howard Nestingen received this rabbit in 1931 as a gift from his parents. His father was a dentist who owned a prosperous practice in Westby, Wisconsin. The family's financial situation remained relatively unaffected by the Depression. Howard cherished this rabbit throughout his life. According to his daughter, it was kept in the attic and brought out each spring for Easter celebrations. This rabbit closely resembles Lewis Carroll's White Rabbit from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Catalog Number: 1986.044.01 Date: 1931 Curated at La Crosse County Historical Society, La Crosse, Wisconsin Catalog Record Photogrammetry completed by the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. This model was created using Agisoft Photoscan from images taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T5i.
