New Guard for my Hovership MHQ2 I took rough measurements from design 586703 and completely revamped it from hub design to outer rim. The original prop holes were replaced, and new splines were added for a secure and rigid build. The outer ring was narrowed to prevent blockage of the downwash generated by the props. This design also doubled up spokes to significantly increase strength in impacts and reduced size so it could fit smaller 3D printing platforms like mine with a focus on forward, angle, and side protection. Printed in PLA they lasted roughly two impacts but performed admirably in dissipating energy from each hit. The energy absorption allowed the hovership to rebound slightly after impact, which reduced damage at the expense of the guard itself.
