Hovership MHQ2 Clamp on Landing Leg

Hovership MHQ2 Clamp on Landing Leg

thingiverse

I finally cracked under the pressure to disassemble my landing gear every time a piece broke, so I designed a simple clamp that snaps over the leg's lower body. To secure it, I need a 3mm screw and nut. Despite some minor mishaps where they snapped off, none of them damaged my plate below. I recently updated this design on 6/4/15. It appears I initially posted an outdated file with the clamp feature turned off, but that has been fixed. Instructions for assembling: 1) Fill it to about 40% before cutting. 2) Place it flat against the surface at the back. 3) Use a razor to cut it in two parts. 4) Install the screw and nut loosely beforehand. 5) Tighten everything once it's put together. Pro tip: Last time I upgraded my landing gear, I first loosened those pesky old screws by heating them up till the plate became pliable. I then yanked them out while the plastic was still warm. Finally, I pushed most of the piece back in.
