Hovercraft skirt upper ring
thingiverse
I wasn't thrilled with the original upper skirt clips. They were a real hassle to remove from the print bed, and I lost count of how many of them I broke before the lightweight plastic bag skirt even wore out. This design replaces the traditional skirt clips with a two-piece retaining ring. Since I wasn't sure what kind of screws I'd be using, I didn't include any holes in the original design. Fortunately, I found some short wood and plastic screws that fit perfectly, so I drilled matching holes through both rings and the upper hull of my printer. Then, I simply screwed them together. --Printing Instructions-- First, print all the parts just like the source file instructs - jscaylor/https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2700850 - except don't bother printing the 75 upper skirt clips. Instead, focus on the two upper skirt ring pieces. To ensure they come out right, rotate them so they lie flat on your print bed. Take note of a small lip at the top; make sure it's facing upwards from the print bed to avoid any issues.
