Housing corner profile round and square (Gehäuse Eckprofil Rund und Eckig)
thingiverse
My concept is to print a housing as separate components, rather than as a single piece, in order to avoid warping issues. To achieve this, I've recreated a corner profile that can be scaled up or down to suit individual needs. What inspired me was a pre-made housing from www.cnc-modellbau.net, which can be found at this link: https://www.cnc-modellbau.net/shop/product_info.php?cPath=170_11_78&products_id=311&osCsid=pi0tfth1cn5dqf9lmf4ionlum0. The corner profile can be scaled to match the thickness of the panels, such as 12x12mm = 2mm plate, 18x18mm = 3mm plate, or 24x24mm = 4mm plate. To achieve the desired plate thickness, simply scale up or down by 6mm. The length of the corner profile is entirely up to you, depending on your 3D printer's capabilities. In my case, I could print a corner profile with dimensions 330x330x400mm ;-) . However, it's also possible to combine multiple profiles using a suitable threaded rod, resulting in a visible seam. The holes in the corner profile are designed for front and back panels, providing the necessary stability to the housing. Furthermore, you can choose from a variety of material plates, such as wood, plastic, aluminum, or (plexi) glass. Depending on the plate material, I would adjust the infill percentage to achieve sufficient stability. For my test print, I used the following settings: dimensions 18x18x50mm, layer thickness 0.15mm, infill 25%, speed 40mm/s, and printing time approximately 2 hours.
