house skirting
thingiverse
Many bathrooms share the same frustrating design flaws. Mine is no exception, with particle board skirting around the shower area that's prone to water damage. No matter how well-painted it is, the material always seems to absorb moisture and swell up like an allergic reaction gone wrong! Rather than replacing it with more of the same subpar material, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I printed a new set of skirting panels in PETG, carefully matching their design to blend seamlessly with the rest of my bathroom's trim. However, please note that this project requires some serious printer firepower: a removable flexible built plate is essential for handling large, flat surfaces like this one. A well-calibrated and levelled build platform is also crucial to prevent any printing mishaps. For those interested in giving it a try, the OpenSCAD file has been shared below, complete with editable options and examples at the bottom.
