The wooden post is credited to Karibwongi Ragerage, a skilled sculptor from the nineteenth or early twentieth century. Pierre Langlois, a respected art dealer, acquired this artwork in the 1960s. A high-quality scan of the piece was taken at The Oceania Exhibition held at The Royal Academy between September and December 2018.
