House Numbers

*Problem:* Deliveries were consistently getting lost at our house due to a pesky bush blocking our old house numbers. *Solution:* A fresh new set of 3D printed house numbers solved the issue! These numbers consist of three distinct parts. I created the frame or back using black PLA, which provided a solid foundation. The middle part or face was printed with unfinished wood PLA for a rustic look. Meanwhile, the front part or stencil was crafted from wood PLA and then stained dark brown using MinWax One Step (Bombay Mahogany) to give it a rich appearance. The most challenging aspect of this project was designing the stencil. I began by creating a 2D image of the numbers and then utilized http://app.selva3d.com/ to generate the stencil, specifying that the depth of impression should exceed the total depth. Initially, my design featured all three parts combined into one frame, but unfortunately, our printer's size limitation forced us to create separate numbers. This actually made the process easier, and now we can share this simplified approach with others. Just remember to be mindful of alignment and spacing when creating your own set!
