Hourglass 1
myminifactory
Sablier à billes, a mesmerizing timepiece that showcases the beauty of physics and mechanics. Two concentric spheres, carefully rolled into shape, serve as the foundation for this intricate device. Two inner channels, with diameters slightly exceeding 3mm, run vertically through the monolith, offset by 180 degrees from each other. At the base of the sablier, two discreet holes are cleverly concealed by a plug, allowing steel balls to be inserted and set in motion. As gravity takes hold, the balls begin their winding journey along the channels, which are expertly sealed to prevent any leaks. As the balls move, they leave behind a trail of depressions that alter their speed and influence the movement of their companions.
