
Houndeyes + Alien vegetation

We rebuild Houndeye models and create a few alien plant organisms for mod Dark Interval. The Houndeyes are dog-like (in both appearance and behavior) alien predators that were common in Half-Life 1, and would have appeared in HL2 but got cut. We rebuilt the model from scratch and made the texture based on Valve's Ted Backman concept. There were two concepts - orange and greenish - we made both into skins, added new ones - albino white (not present) and red. This scene was built to easily show off those three skins together, portraying the houndeyes in their natural environment among alien flora (also content of Dark Interval mod). P.S. In-game, they have pulsating emissions on the stripes and self-illum based effect imitating tapetum lucidum. We couldn't recreate those in Sketchup well enough.
