I am currently working on designing a HotSwap tool mount for my DIY printer, which is a crucial component for upgrading and modifying the system. Since I heavily modified the BLV MGN12 to make it stronger and more versatile, creating this mount was a natural next step. The main idea behind this design is to allow users to quickly swap out tools by simply loosening two screws, then mounting the hotswap mount to the MGN12 rail without needing to recalibrate the system. This means that users can easily switch between different laser heads or other tools without having to go through a time-consuming calibration process. To ensure seamless integration with the existing BL touch calibration system, it's essential to update the BL touch offset in the firmware after making any modifications. I've taken this into account and included a clear reminder in the instructions. I'm currently working on version 3 of the HotSwap tool mount, which includes several improvements that should make it more reliable and efficient. With this new version, users can expect to see significant performance enhancements and better overall system stability. In addition to the updated design, I've also included a simple spindle mount in version 3.1, which provides users with even more flexibility and versatility when working with their DIY printer.
