HOTAS mount for Playseat Challenge
thingiverse
The primary objective of this mount was to securely hold both components of a hotas setup while retaining the folding and storage capabilities of the playseat challenge. Depending on the thickness of the rubber, there are two versions available for printing: one designed for 1mm thick rubber and another for 2mm thick rubber. Required Prints: * hotas_clamp_A_left: 1 unit * hotas_clamp_A_right: 1 unit * hotas_clamp_B: 2 units * hotas_clamp_connector: 2 units * hotas_plate_mount: 2 units * Turnhandle: 4 units * gripplate (optional) Required Parts: * M5x40 with cylindrical head: 8 units * M5 nuts: 8 units * M6x40 hex bolt: 4 units * M6 nuts: 4 units * rubber (1/2mm thick) * wood or metal plate (20x20cm): 2 units * screws with 4mm diameter to attach the plate to the plate_mount: 8 units Build Instructions: Print all necessary parts and remove any overhangs or edges from the first layer. Cut out four rubber pieces, each approximately 3x4cm, for the clamp. Attach hotas_clamp_A and B to the seat using M5 screws and nuts. Cut additional rubber pieces (approximately 3.5cm in diameter with a 7mm hole in the middle) for the connection between rotary joints. Place this rubber between joints and attach hotas_connector with an M6 screw and turn handle on the clamp. Mount hotas_plate_mount to a wooden or metal plate, leaving a 1cm space between the edge and the first hole of the holder. Attach the plate to the connector using one M6 screw, rubber, and a nut. The assembly is now complete. Optional: If a rotary joint requires additional grip, print two grip plates and glue them onto both sides of the joints for improved performance. Tip: Remove all weights from the base of the hotas setup to minimize overall seat weight, making transportation easier.
