I'm excited to share this community-made alternative hatswitch base with you! It's been reinforced by BikerSid and is designed to replace some awful hat switches I salvaged from a 90's Madcatz Panther XL joystick. Originally, I was trying to create a throttle for them, but they failed so I started over and it evolved into this amazing project! Every hatswitch variation I could think of is included! These bases aren't designed specifically for the Panther XL, but who knows, maybe they'll fit other devices too. Someone pointed out that the Madcatz switches are likely from CH, which is now APEM. They sell the exact same switch for 45 bucks! You can find it on Digikey: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/apem-inc/500-526/679-2289-ND/2063280 If you have old or broken CH/Thrustmaster/Satiek devices, I'd love to make new bases to fit them too. Just let me know! Here are the tact switches used: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06Y6DDG8K/ To print this base, you'll need: * 2-4x 6x6x5 tact switches (depending on the number of directions you've printed) * 2x M2x12 (or M2x10) Bolts * 2x M2 nuts * 1x M2x20 Bolt Some important notes to keep in mind: Make sure your extrusion and size are well calibrated, or the switch will be too tight or too loose. Print with supports, but use a lower density so they're easier to remove. You may need to remove a small support pin inside the base of the switch stem using a needle. To get the bolt to thread well, heat it up with a lighter. You might need to file the edges of the base of the switch stem to make it fit nicely. Finally, enable print ironing to improve the quality of the switch surface.
