This device adjusts tension on the wire, allowing it to stretch and still maintain consistent pull. A continuous rotating servo and an Arduino Pro Mini work together seamlessly. The hot wire winds onto the servo spool, then traverses over a small ball bearing before reaching the guide ring, from which it extends to the CNC hot wire cutter's Z-axis. Its vertical position causes the wire to bend sharply at the guide ring, forming a precise 90-degree angle. A potentiometer in this setup mirrors the one originally used with the servo, but its role is easily adjusted through code modifications. The code itself consists of a basic servo movement paired with input from the potentiometer, requiring no additional complexity.
