Hot-swap Pen Holder

Hot-swap Pen Holder

thingiverse

I recently came across Tech2C's video on drawing with a 3D printer and decided to give it a shot myself. The idea of pausing the print mid-stream to add different colored pens for a unique effect really caught my attention, so I designed a drop-in replacement for the e3Dv6 hotend that allows hot-swapping between pen cartridges during a printer pause. This new part is specifically designed to hold Pilot G-2 series ballpoint pen cartridges at just the right height, eliminating the need to adjust limit switches on your machine. However, I'm still figuring out how to pause the print at specific points in the gcode, which will allow me to create a tutorial once I get it sorted out. If anyone has experience with pausing prints without layer-by-layer interruption, please don't hesitate to reach out – I'd love to learn from your expertise.
