Hot shoe PC socket flash sync adapter for Canon
thingiverse
This is a DIY project for creating a hotshoe to PC socket plug adapter for flash sync.\nTo avoid spending more than 10€ on a simple piece of plastic, or waiting half that amount for shipping from China, I decided to adapt the original design by adding some holes for cables.\nUsing a piece of a spring taken off a pushbutton ballpen, two short cables, and manual work, I created my own adapter.\nFrom the pictures you can see how it's cabled, with the trigger for the shot being the ground contact on the hotshoe that shorts with the "X" contact, which is the larger middle contact.\nThe assembly process requires some patience, as once it's put together, the middle contact needs to be placed correctly to ensure proper touch with the spring (there's no click guiding you into position like commercial adapters).\nTip: You might want to shorten the spring than what's visible in the picture since a second cable will pass through the middle hole, so the spring will make contact with an endstop sooner in the form of the ground cable itself.
