This is a big plus for printing small objects quickly too. I found that it's possible to print about 30mm horizontally. So you can set up the bridge distance in Slic3r to a larger amount and it will be easier to remove these afterwards. The electric control uses Ian Johnson's Gcode-controlled Fan Mod (http://solidoodletips.wordpress.com/2012/10/26/gcode-controlled-extruder-fan/) but instead of using a fan, I used a relay that switches an air pump for aquariums. There are really cheap ones available for only $13. I designed the tubes myself and they fit perfectly with a simple glue made from Aceton and ABS plastic. It also looks good when you paint them in copper or iron colors. You need: -Air pump (I used a 66 Gallons/hour, 5Watt, membrane pump bought at Amazon for $13) -http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=air+pump+aquarium&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Air+pump+aquarium -All the parts mentioned in Ian's Guide (but not the fan) -http://solidoodletips.wordpress.com/2012/10/26/gcode-controlled-extruder-fan/ -12V DC relay (make sure to buy one that can handle the power of your pump) -Flexible tube (inner diameter 4mm, outer 6mm) -Glue that dries quickly. I used a mixture of Aceton and ABS. To set up the electric part, just follow Ian Johnson's guide but instead of connecting the fan, connect the 12V relay. You can also use a transistor or something like that. Take a look at the scam for more information. After you've connected the hardware, it's very important to set up the control of your "fan" (in our case the air pump). Here are the adjustments to make in Slic3r Menu: Go to Settings->Filament Settings->Cooling and do the following: -Fanspeed minimum to 100 -Fanspeed maximum to 100 -Bridges fan speed to 100% -Disable fan for the first 1 layers (maybe adjust to 2, you have to see how the layer behaves) I replaced my hot head with this one: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:33152 from Tek. If you have a different hot head, you may need to customize this cooler tube system. If you have any questions, just ask me via private message or in the comments.
