Hot End

Hot End

My final hot end design is detailed below, including the issues I faced with temperature control and clogging. The revised model incorporates several changes to address these problems: 1) The resistor block remains unchanged due to its effectiveness; 2) The nozzle now features a 20mm M6 tail and a 10mm head with a 0.4mm drill hole; 3) A MACOR-machined thermal barrier, measuring 35mm in length, is included to enhance heat transfer; 4) A teflon tube (3.4/3.8mm) is inserted inside the thermal barrier and the nozzle's threaded portion to prevent clogging. I will provide a new drawing shortly. Unfortunately, the current design is not functioning as expected due to insufficient heat transfer at full speed and PLA clogging when the temperature exceeds 200°C.
