Hot Bed Sponge Box for cleaning and coating
thingiverse
Like many of us, I've been repeatedly cleaning the printer hot bed with a paper towel for far too long - filling the paper bin with used towels in the process. A simple sponge in a box has been my solution, and it might just be yours too. The sponge stays moist within its lit compartment, preventing it from drying out too quickly. The box is designed to accommodate standard kitchen cleaning sponges (the affordable ones with heavy-duty nylon on one side). Simply cut off the nylon portion and trim it to your desired length - approximately 12 mm for the small box and 20 mm for the standard box. As someone who prints a lot of PETG, my sponge is typically wet with window cleaner. Alternatively, you can use dish soap and water - just remember what works best for your printing needs. Please note that you should avoid using solvents that could dissolve the printed box. **Update 2019.11.03:** I've added a new version of the design featuring a lower lid to make it easier to open. If you like this design, please take a moment to leave a Like or Tip - thank you!
