Hospital pitcher self watering adapter
thingiverse
You're on duty at the hospital, and you've misplaced your water bottle, so you swing by to pick up a pitcher. As your shift comes to an end, you think to yourself, "I really don't want to toss this." With a little creativity, though, you can turn it into a self-watering planter. The specific pitcher I have is 90mm at its base, so feel free to scale the design up or down based on your own pitcher's dimensions. To get started, simply print out the adapter, then carve a small notch in the pitcher just below where the adapter sits. That's it - you're all set! The position of that notch will determine how much water collects at the bottom. I used recycled PET from re-filament.com to print my example, which I scored in a Makerbox.
