I upgraded my mountain bike from mechanical disc brakes to hydraulic disc brakes, a move that required some creative problem-solving when it came to integrating the new system with the existing frame design. Specifically, the cable guide on the top tube was not designed with hydraulic hoses in mind, but rather with cables, which presented a challenge for secure installation of the hose. To address this issue, I developed adapters that clip onto the hose itself and insert into the cable guides where the ferrules would typically be located. These adapters appear to do their job, holding the hose firmly in place, and I'm hopeful that they will prove useful to others who may face a similar situation.
