The skull of a horse hangs proudly on the wall at The Wildgoose Memorial Library, donated by a friend of a friend after its owner's much-loved animal passed away peacefully. This initial donation was soon followed by another, equally impressive skull - that of a ram with majestic curling horns, which Jane thoughtfully displayed over her front door. Unfortunately, however, the ram's skull did not stay put for long, as it was quickly stolen from its new home. Despite this setback, the horse's skull did not remain alone at The Wildgoose Memorial Library for long. Over time, it has been joined by an assortment of additional skulls, each with its own unique story to tell. There is a badger's skull, which was generously offered when it was being removed from a natural history collection. A goat's skull also hangs on the wall, as do two foxes - one of which was discovered in a friend's field and another that found its way onto the library's shelves. In addition to these, several sheep have been added to the collection, each having been found grazing in fields. And rounding out this eclectic group is a mink's skull, which was fortuitously discovered in a shop in New York.
