For altering Triang or Hornby-Triang loco-drive LNER / British Rail Gresley A3s (RHD) into their less-loved late forms with the 'German'-style smoke deflectors and double chimneys. This collection of parts includes a replacement for the often lost smokebox door in LNER form without numberplate or BR form with a high numberplate. To model the low numberplate condition, use the LNER form and attach your number directly to the hinge as shown in the images. The dart is integral in the style of 90s Hornby A1s but will need handrail adding unlike the Triang part and may need altering slightly if you are keeping your original moulded handrails on the boiler. The seats incorporate side door plates. My original Triang tender draw plate was damaged, so I created a new loop to match which I have also included in case you have the same issue. This is by no means rivet-counter perfect but then nor is the crude model upon which it is based, it merely allows you to breathe some variety and new life into tired old models and as 99% of these will be Flying Scotsman, with allow you to more closely replicate the form 60103 is currently pounding the mainline in.
